So I was a little behind with my Project Life layouts. I have been waiting for my page protectors to come in and finally they made it to Amazon and then made their way to me.  I spent this past weekend getting everything printed and in the pockets and I can say now I am fully caught up. HOLLA!!

Here is a quick look at the left side of Week 2.  I used Becky Higgin’s Photo Pocket Pages Design D on this side.  Next to the Design A this may very well be my favorite layout.  I love to use this design when I have very specific stories to share.  The top half of the page is all about registering Aubrey for Big Girl school.  Yes folks my little girl will be going off to school next year and I am not quite ready for it.  The pictures were taken outside of her base school, which is where we had to register her, but we will be applying for magnet schools next week.  She doesn’t quite get that part of it so to her this will be her school and she insisted on some pic in front of her new school. I created the HELLO card in photoshop using the striped paper from my Innocence kit.  Below that is a journaling card from my new Olive Kit and I used it to jot down how I was feeling and how Aubrey was feeling about this big day.

The bottom half of the page is dedicated to Aubrey’s first day of Karate.  Again I include some pics in the outside 4×6 slots and then I created a couple of cards for the 4×3 slots.  I wanted something fun and graphic so I included this pink, comic style KICK card.  I also created a THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID card to include a little story about the night and a quote from Aubrey.

For my right page I used Becky’s Design A photo pockets.  I started the page off with my favorite week/date card.  I have also decided that I will keep each month the same color so that it provides a littel consistency throughout my book.  It will also serve as a month divider. . . . when you get to a new color you realize you are in a new month. To the right of the date card is something from my instagram.  Aubrey and I were at Target when we discovered the duct tape aisle and we just knew my niece Riley would totally swoon over the design. I created this instagram card last year to use in my Project Life Pages.  You can see more examples here.  In the middle road I used a stock card from Becky’s Cobalt Edition and I created this LOVE card to share the story of the amazing dress I found at the mall.  I LOVED this dress and I needed a new dress for an upcoming birthday party but I ended up leaving with out it, still regret that.  To compete the look of the middle row I just took the chevron and added it to the opposite side.  I have a thing about balance.

In the bottom right I included a couple of pics of “my girls”.  If you keep up with my PLife books you know I LOVE putting text on pics in photoshop! In the last spot of the page I included a card that references a video.  You can see the video here. I learned last year that we are a family that loves to record things and I am a woman who needs some type of filing system.  I keep a folder in my Project Life folder called VIDEOS and everytime I reference the video in my book I put a copy in that folder.  I will burn a DVD later and include that DVD in my book.  That way when we look back on our book we can pull out the DVD and watch all our videos.  Having this card helps me remember what videos we have and the part on the card that is ALL CAPS is also how the DVD is named.  If you are looking for something like this check out Paislee Press’s Cards!

And there you have it another week complete.

Hi, I am a first time PLer and found your blog through Becky Higgins. I LOVE your pages!!! Just had a quick question….the site that you linked to at the end of your post for cards….can those be purchased and just printed out? I don’t have PhotoShop so I am kind of limited I am afraid in cute extras for my layouts but wondered if there were other options. Thank you for the great inspiration!

I am sure they can just be printed. I think Liz offers both JPG and PDF I would suggest you email her and ask. However you can’t customize the text without a photo editing program.
