Project Life: Title Page

03
Jan

It’s a new year which means I am going to follow through with my plans and do a full year of Project Life.  I know some of you are thinking she is a wild woman, both Project 365 and Project Life.  Yes, I have to admit I am a scrapbooking junkie.  Name a project and promise me years of memories and more than likely I am going to jump all over it.   Seriously, P365 and PLife are very similar but I feel like P365 is about documenting every day with one picture and some journaling.  PLife is about collecting- collecting memories, collecting keepsakes and much more.

In the top corner of my Intro page I used the brown polka dot paper from my Basic Spots Paper Pack and cropped it down to fit a 4×6 space.  I then use one of Ali Edward’s Love Life Chipboard Tags and placed it right on top of the card,  I thought this tag really summed up Project Life.

This picture I like to call our Polk Family Portrait.  We snapped it using photobooth and anytime one of us see it we immediately fall into laughter.

Right below the photo I used the red solid from Basic Spots Paper Pack and Katie Pertiet’s Messy Stamp Alphabet.  I then typed in the phrase “this is us this is our story”.  Note: those lines on the P are only showing up on my photo, not really sure what is going on there.

Beside the initial card I did three cards, one for each of us.  On the cards I have listed some of our favorites.  I am think it might be fun to list them again at the end of the year to see how much they change.  The little hearts are just punched out of a Trader Joes Paper bag.  The red and white designs were an added little surprise.

In the bottom left corner I did a little collage of the rest of the family.  Aubrey insisted that fish had to be added to this photo.  I used Anna Aspnes messy stitches to give it a 3 dimensional look.  I am in the process of trying to find a nice little sewing machine but these work just as well.

For my date card I used my tan paper from my Basic Spots Paper Pack.  I then typed the year and a little tag that reads “and the story begins”.  I used Katie Pertiet’s Wax Seal Alphabet for the number.  I had to edit it in photoshop because the numbers only go from 0-9, it was simple edit and I love the end result.

This is fantastic. I love how you made it so personal using your family portrait! There will be many more photos through-out the year that show you ‘as you are’ but that captures LIFE as it is. Brilliant :D
