Project {Life} Summer | Week 6
It’s been a long time since I posted a Project Life update and that’s because the last 2 weeks have been insane around my house. These past 2 weeks I have barely had time to shower much less document anything. This past Saturday night my husband took Aubrey downstairs and gave me the night to do whatever I wanted and what I wanted to do is work on my Project Summer.
I don’t know if you remember but a couple of weeks ago I posted that I bought a new photo printer and let me tell you now that baby is awesome!!! Not only do my pictures look 200% better but it cut my time in half!! This is the little gem that has changed my life.
This week I also tried a new way to take photos of my pages, in hopes to show off all the detail, and here is a full view of the left side.
I had this large 4×12 space at the top of my page to fill. While I was looking through my photos from the week I came across the little photoshoot that Aubrey and I had after I spent hours straightening her hair. She was so in love with her straight hair and totally clowned in front of the camera for me. I took these into photoshop and created a little layout with them and some journaling at the top.
Right under the photoshoot I created this convo card to document just one of the many funny things this kid says to me throughout the day. I used background paper from a kit I purchased from Joey Lynn Designs and I just drew the convo bubble. I am seriously in love with this little card!
This week was a major week for current events. This was the week that Norway dealt with a horrible tragedy and it was also the week that Amy Winehouse died. I really wanted to document the two events so I pulled some notebook paper from my stash, I believe this is from Paislee Press, and I just used a typewriter font and copied the text from so major news sites.
Right above the news card is a date card I created using some paper from my Early Morning kit, releasing next week, and a photo of Aubrey and JoJo on the computer skyping.
Here is the full view of the right side of the spread. Sweet mercy don’t these photos look good
The pictures at the bottom are a few photos I snapped during this week’s craft project. I made Aubrey a jewelry holder for her room and you can read all about it here.
Right above that is my Ode to Netflix. JoJo and I decided to get rid of cable this summer and just so we wouldn’t completely go crazy we signed up for Netflix. This was the week that we fell head over heels in love with it. Not only did we spend our entire Saturday veggie out watching Glee, totally slept on this show, but Aubrey discovered The Cosby Show. I would have to say Netflix is totally worth $7 a month.
To finish off that row I took one of Becky Higgin’s journaling cards and just summed it all up.
In the top right corner I took 2 photos of Aubrey being silly and printed them out together.
Finishinh off the page is a notecard that I printed one of Ali Edwards summer quotes on, you can find the set here. I also added a butterfly, leftover from our craft project, to add a personal touch to it.
I am creating a lot of my own notecards, date cards, etc only because I totally missed the boat on ordering Becky’s kit last year. Those suckers really sell out fast!! I have decided that I am doing this for a full year in 2012 and I will be ordering my kit as soon as they hit the shop in the Fall. Have you seen her new designs? Not only do they look amazing but this week she gave a free sample on her blog.

Thank-you for sharing your Project Life album! I also started mine this summer and have quickly come to love it!
I was wondering what font and what journal tags you used on the “Get Crafty” and the Skype journal notes.
Thanks! Debbie

Get Crafty – the font is MARI & DAVID you can find it on dafont.com. The tag will be in a kit I am releasing in October titled “Innocence”
Skype – The tag is from my Felicity kit and the font is Neato Handprint and I think it is available for purchase at MScraps.

I love what you are doing with your project life! Thanks for sharing! I’ve been also working on mine, but so far I haven’t done any posts about it. I guess I should! :O)
